My intention this day was to capture detail shots of the James Scott Fountain on Belle Isle. I positioned myself on a bench, set-up my tripod with a 70-200mm lens and shutter release cable. As you can see, I zoomed in to the top of the fountain first. As I zoomed out people were starting to appear in my shot. At first, I was waiting until they moved out of the frame, but then I decided to keep shooting and see what I might capture. My final selection, above, included two females enjoying and photographing the fountain with her smartphone.
Remember to keep shooting, your intended shot is usually not your final selection.
